My favorite movie, “Drop Dead Fred” – the little girl was in a tree crying, and Fred showed up. He said “What’s wrong snotface?” (that was a term of endearment) She says “I can’t do anything right!” Fred says “So what?” then something to the effect of “you’re the best you in the world”.
I love the “So what?”. Like… yeah, I make mistakes. I learn from them. Sometimes I make lots of mistakes all in the same day. Does that make me a horrible person? Or a worthless piece of crap?
No.
However, since I’ve been making mistakes all day – I feel horrible and like a WPOC. I have to decide that I don’t want to feel this way. I have to decide that I know I’m okay, I just need to keep going. The other stuff I need to do today won’t do itself, just because I’m feeling sorry for myself.
Granted, I do deserve a “you poor little thing”… and I can tell myself that. Then move on.
I need to advertise – so I’ll go do that now. Then I’ll make my todo list for tomorrow.
